Jun-Yang Liou 劉俊揚 研究員
Our research interests focus on three areas. The first is investigating the potential signal and molecular regulation that modulates vascular inflammation, artery stenosis and myocardial injury. The second is the establishment of human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and its differentiation into cardiovascular-related cells. We have thoroughly established the optimal protocol for differentiation of human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (iPSC-CMs), which can then be applied to drug screening of cardiotoxicity for early drug safety de-risking, and additionally reducing the amounts of experimental animals sacrificed. Finally, we have discovered several signal regulators that are involved in the triggering of tumor progression in hepatocellular carcinoma. The achieved applications have been assessed by multiple strategies, including in vitro analysis of cellular function, as well as in vivo animal study and validation in human clinical samples.
